Opย donderdagavond 27 augustusย organiseert de bblthk 'Liefde aan de Rijn' waarbij twaalf Wageningers hun eigen liefdesverhaal voordragen aan de Rijn. Neem je eigen picknickkleed en een drankje mee en kom luisteren naar de persoonlijke verhalen van stadsgenoten. Een hartverwarmende avond om de zomervakantie samen mee af te sluiten. Nodig je vrienden, buren, oma, zoon of collega's uit en wees erbij! De ontvangst is bij in ingang van de uiterwaarden bij de Wolfswaard. Vanaf daar wandel je per groepje langs de vier sprekers, waar je je kleedje kunt neerleggen, luisteren en gezellig napraten.

Molenmarkt

The Molenmarkt (windmill market) takes place every second saturday in September in the area around the windmill in Wageningen. On this day there are a series of activities in the close proximity of the windmill: a market with many market stalls, a childrenโ€™s flea market, music and dance on two podia and many other different activities for young and old in the streets around the windmill. The market itself has different areas. The part closest to the windmill is dedicated to organic production. In the Harnjesweg there is the more general fair part with a wide variety of market stalls, from ancient crafts to jewelry to cloths and many other items. In the Oude Eekmolenweg many voluntary organisations present themselves to the public and in this same street market stalls that are dedicated to developments in sustainability can be found. The Veluviaweg is during this day for the youth: here is the childrenโ€™s flea market, this year again continuing in the upper part of the Ceresstraat. In addition to the market activities that take place throughout the day, there are many other activities. Most prominent are the musical performances on the two stages, one next to the windmill and the other in the Harnjesweg opposite to the meeting centre โ€˜Ons Huisโ€™. The programme for both podia are published on this websiteย โ€˜Podium programmaโ€™ย (in Dutch).

Je kent ze wel, van die planten die uitstekend hun eigen boontjes doppen en op eigen houtje door je tuin tieren. Iedereen heeft hier wel eens een strijd tegen geleverd. Iedereen heeft wel eens onkruid gewied. Maar wat maakt een plant tot onkruid? In ieder geval slaat de term 'onkruid' niet op een vaste groep plantensoorten. Veel soorten die vroeger werden verguisd, worden nu juist beschermd. Andere soorten ondergaan het tegenovergesteld lot. Exoten zoals de reuzenberenklauw en de Japanse duizendknoop zijn ooit naar Europa gebracht als sierplanten. Inmiddels is het tij gekeerd en worden ze vervloekt als โ€˜invasieve exootโ€™. Kortom, tijd om het woord โ€˜onkruidโ€™ en onkruidplanten eens nader onder de loep te nemen. In deze lezing brengt botanisch filosoof Norbert Peeters een ode aan onkruid.

9:00 Input plants, cuttings, seeds, gardening books, etc. 9:30 am starts exchange, end of 10:30 am. You are welcome with seeds, cuttings, bulbs and tubers and plants for indoors and outdoors. Also โ€˜green booksโ€™/garden leaves and used, good tools can be brought with you. This grant is also free for non-members, even if you cannot insert plants yourself. The coffee is ready! We do ask for a voluntary contribution for coffee and tea.
